• From the mountains to the sea...
I'm 42 and living the most creative life! I draw inspiration from so many things around me and am always fascinated by where other artists get their motivation, thoughts and ideas from. My goal is to make it to europe and tour ancient castles and lands in which I immerse myself daily through books, photos and research. I am a "renfester" and love the Maryland Renaisance Festival! I have an 18 year old wonderful son who is always an inspiration to me and my loving 12 year old jack russell who still looks at me like I'm nuts.

It's cold but Inspiration never quits!

Hi everyone! First I want to let you know that I am now a proud member of a juried group - The Etsy Wedding Team! I can't tell you how happy that makes me as I have joined a group of wonderful wedding artists out there with so much talent and have many beautiful things to offer!

Next I want to show you my latest project i'm working on and the inspiration it has come from:

I love the crystals on this dress!  Just a sea of crystal:

Here is a velvet crystal cuff I made custom (to her wrist size) to sparkle with her beaded dress for her dusk wedding. It clasps from under the crystals:

It's a heavy encrusted velvet band that will be lovely on her special day!

Now, here's a new item I am listing in my etsy shop:

Bracelet-1-15-09b

This is simply beautiful in the light! Again, it is a swiss velvet wrist cuff with a double satin tie. The tie hangs down and can be beaded at the end with Swarovski crystals as an extra touch. It feels wonderful wrapped around the wrist and shines for a day or evening wedding! When holding your flowers this will just draw so much attention and dazzle the guests! See my etsy store for this piece!Bracelet-1-15-09c

I will be making more of these cuffs for the BEACH BRIDE too!

Inspiration of the Day!

Merry merry christmas! It's cold and rainy here today...perfect for wrapping gifts, staying in and drinking eggnog. One of my most favorite things are watercolor paintings of interiors. I found an article this morning in the dec. issue of Veranda magazine of an exhibit at Cooper-Hewitt's museum in NY of "Nineteenth century watercolor interiors from the Thaw Collection" and I have posted some of my favorites here today...The very first paragraph is intriguing to me and I would love to create and have the same...

Basically, it was a pastime to do portraits of home interiors (or have them commissioned) in watercolor and then placed in tooled leather bound albums during the 19th century. Queen Victoria and Albert were notorious for this practice. Wouldn't you love to have such books? I say, get out your sketch books, colored pencils/watercolors and have a go at it. Mine in the past have been "doodles" but maybe I'll try and be a bit more serious and create my own leatherbound interior watercolor book!

Here are my favorites!

Inspiration Day!

http://kimberlyklinedesign.etsy.com

I picked up the new copy of BRIDES magazine today- WOW!  It was a great-grey, snowy day for sketching out new ideas to execute and put in my new ETSY store. Sometimes I have so many concepts that hit me all at once - it hurts my head! But, I take my time and sketch. Sometimes right on the brides in the magazines! Reminds me of when we used to make glasses and mustaches on the pretty people in other mags. Now I'm using that talent as a designer. How funny.

The snow is beautiful, coming down steady and sticking to the trees. Hmmm....all those sparkles!
